PDF tools for sensitive and confidential documents
When your documents contain information that should not be exposed to third-party servers, MendPDF offers a complete set of PDF tools that process files locally in your browser.
What makes a document sensitive
Sensitivity is not limited to regulated industries. Any document you would not want a stranger to read qualifies: employment contracts, salary letters, tax returns, medical test results, insurance claims, legal correspondence, internal company reports, personal identification documents, financial statements, and client deliverables with confidentiality clauses.
Tools that process locally
Edit PDF: Modify text, numbers, dates, and formatting in place. The WASM engine patches the PDF content stream directly inside your browser.
PDF to Word: Convert to editable .docx with layout and table preservation. No upload.
Merge and Split: Combine multiple files or extract specific pages. All processing in browser memory.
Compress: Reduce file size by stripping metadata and optimizing structure locally.
Protect and Unlock: Add or remove password encryption on your device.
Watermark and Page Numbers: Add watermarks or numbering without any server involvement.
Image conversion: Convert PDF to JPG or JPG to PDF locally in the browser.
What "local processing" means in practice
Your file is read from your device into browser memory (RAM).
A WebAssembly engine processes the file inside the browser tab.
The output is generated in memory and saved to your device.
No document data is transmitted to any MendPDF server during processing.
When you close the tab, the file data in memory is discarded.
The one exception: Magic Scan
Magic Scan transfers scanned documents from your phone to your desktop via an encrypted relay. The file is encrypted end-to-end before leaving your phone. The relay server cannot read the content. Encrypted data is automatically deleted after 60 seconds.
